The first piece of ibelo works: accounts
A few days ago we shared why we're building ibelo. This week, the first piece of the app works: accounts.
ibelo is still in early development and isn't available yet. Nobody outside the team can sign up today. But in our own test setup, we can now go from a blank screen to a signed-in account, start to finish.
What we built
- Sign up on one screen. Your name, email, where you live, your privacy choices and the Terms, then a code sent to your email to confirm it's yours.
- Email and password. Sign in with a password, and reset it with an emailed code if you forget it.
- Sign-in from Microsoft. We didn't build our own password system. Accounts use Microsoft's sign-in service, which one of the largest security teams in the world builds, defends and keeps current with modern protections. Your password is checked there, and ibelo never stores it.
- Privacy you choose. Usage analytics stay off unless you opt in, and you can change your choices later in your settings.
- A space of your own. Each new account gets its own workspace, where your side hustle will live.
Why start here
It isn't the exciting part. But everything ibelo will do, from testing an idea to launching it, happens inside your account. If you're trusting a tool with your side hustle, the basics have to be right first: who can get in, what's saved about you, and what you agreed to.
We tested it the slow way, with a real sign-up and a real email. Reviews caught a handful of bugs along the way. Each one got fixed, with a test so it stays fixed.
A lesson that carries over to any side hustle: decide what you'll keep about your customers, and why, before you collect anything. It's much easier than cleaning it up later.
What's next
Next, we're laying the groundwork for the agents themselves. We'll share it here when there's something you can picture using.
